What we check

Five groups covering technical points, visible conditions and the small signs that can appear when a home has been empty for a while.

Water

  • Main shut-off valve and meter
  • Leaks under sinks, basins and washing machine
  • Traps and drains
  • Water heater or boiler: pressure and dripping
  • Stains and damp on ceilings and walls

Electricity and refrigeration

  • Electrical panel and RCD test
  • Fridge and freezer
  • Supply status
  • Meter readings when relevant

Closure and security

  • Doors, locks and signs of forced entry
  • Windows, shutters and awnings
  • Alarm status, if installed
  • Access points to the property

Environment

  • Cross ventilation
  • Relative humidity with hygrometer
  • Mould in cupboards and hidden areas
  • Signs of pests

Other

  • Watering plants
  • Terrace or balcony check
  • Furniture check to spot or prevent damage
  • Mail and advertising collection
  • Removal of notices that reveal the home is empty
  • Follow-up on items from the previous visit

After every visit, you receive a report.

A report with dated photos can serve as supporting documentation after an incident or for an insurance claim. Each insurer decides which documentation it accepts and which coverage applies.

If damp suddenly appears, a shutter breaks or there is a leak, you can check how the property looked during previous visits. This history does not replace an expert assessment, but it can help document the condition and how it changed.
